The best way to stay on top of grooming is to spend a little bit of time doing it every day. It becomes a habit for you and your dog will love the extra one on one time. Indoor pets shed far more than those that spend most of their time outdoors. Regular brushing really does help keep the loose fur from being absolutely everywhere. Since my Saint Bernards are indoor dogs they are bathed often; a smelly dog makes for a smelly house. To avoid ear issues; keep your dog's ears clean. It is also a good idea to brush their teeth regularly. Keep your dog's nails trimmed, split or broken nails can be painful for them and even cause them to limp.
