Summer Is Here

Summer has arrived so be sure to provide your outdoor pets with plenty of fresh water and a nice shady spot. Avoid taking your pets along with you in your vehicle. Leaving them in a closed up vehicle is a death trap. Keep watch for hot spots, they quickly get out of control. Remember with hot spots the goal is to dry out the area not keep it moist. It is also a good idea to keep frozen ice packs in your freezer, with heat stroke it is necessary to lower the body temperature quickly and seek help from your veterinarian. Try to take your dog on walks early or late in the day to avoid the heat of the day. When the temperatures outside become very hot, bring your pets indoors. They will enjoy fans and air conditioning just like you.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day from Brandykegs!

My Dad
(author unknown)

When I was just a tiny kid,
Do you remember when?
The time you kissed my bruises,
Or cleaned my soiled chin.

You scrambled for the balls I hit,
Short-winded more than not,
Yet, every time we played a game,
You praised the "outs" I caught.

It seems like only yesterday,
You wiped away my tears,
And late at night I called your name,
To chase away my fears.

Though time has changed your handsome grip,
Your hair is snowy white,
Your gait's a little slower now,
Thick glasses help your sight.

Oh, do I thirst for years gone by?
To be that growing lad,
Re-living all of the memories,
Of growing with my Dad.
