Dogs Live Here

If you don't want to be greeted with paws and swinging tails,
don't come inside because dogs live here.

If you don't like the feel of a cold nose or wet tongue,
don't come inside because dogs live here.

If you don't want to step over many scattered toys,
don't come inside because dogs live here.

If you think a home should smell like perfume,
don't come inside because dogs live here.

If you don't mind all of this,
you will be instantly loved when you come inside because dogs live here.

Hypoallergenic Dogs

Did you know that there is really no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog? Sometimes allergies are caused by a dog's fur; usually the real source of the dog allergy comes from a protein found in the dog's saliva. We all know dogs lick themselves and this protein in the saliva sticks to the dried flakes of skin called dander. All dogs have dander, so a hypoallergenic dog is really just a myth.

Happy Groundhog Day! According to folklore, if the groundhog sees his shadow today; then winter will continue for another six weeks. On the otherhand, if the groundhog does not see his shadow then spring is just around the corner. This is a Pennsylvania German custom that began in the 18th and 19th centuries. It's actual origins comes from ancient European weather lore. A badger or bear would be the forecaster instead of our groundhog.
