1. Set house rules - Most of us don't want our pets running around indoors, drinking from the toilet, getting on the furniture, etc. We need to set some house rules, right from the start. Every family member should be aware of the house rules; they need to consistently be enforced by everyone. Right from the start you will want your new puppy or dog to demonstrate good behaviors. It will be up to you to teach them these good behaviors.
