  1. Clip those nails - This is really a good idea, if you feel comfortable doing it yourself. By keeping nails clipped, you can sometimes avoid nail breaks and fractures. Both of which can cause your dog discomfort and they may even limp because of a nail break or fracture. Nail grinders used by many groomers and dog handlers; are a great tool. This device allows you to evenly smooth off your dog's nails. You are also less likely to cut into the quick with these tools, which will cause bleeding on their nails.
