South Carolina State Dog - Boykin Spaniel

In 1985, the Boykin Spaniel became the state dog of South Carolina.  The Boykin Spaniel was bred by South Carolina hunters for hunting in the early 1900's.  The creation of the Boykin Spaniel was for hunting wild turkeys in the Wateree River Swamp.
