Dogs In The Hound Group

The Saluki may appear delicate and fragile however; they are avid hunters that possess the strength and endurance for a long hunt over difficult terrain.  The Saluki is a sight hunter; in the past they were used to hunt gazelles.  Did you know the Saluki is the royal dog of Egypt?  This breed has been depicted in carvings as far back as 7000 B.C. The Saluki was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1929.
