Dogs In The Hound Group

The Beagle is a sturdy hunting dog; it resembles a foxhound but is smaller.  Did you know that the Beagle is one of the most popular dogs in the United States?  The breed comes in two height varieties; 13 inches and 15 inches.  The Beagle is a scent hound and is primarily used to hunt rabbits.  The American Kennel Club recognized the Beagle in 1885.
