Be Courteous

Do you demonstrate canine courtesy in your community?  A community is an area shared by individuals and their pets from a variety of backgrounds.  We should all strive to be good neighbors.  Here are some suggestions for showing canine courtesy in your neighborhood.

  • Pick up after your dog, whether you are at a park or in your own backyard.  Everyone in a community wants it to be clean.
  • Don't allow your dog to be a nuisance with barking.  Nuisance barking can alienate your neighbors very quickly.
  • Obey leash laws in your community.  Letting your dog run loose, can be a safety hazard not only for your dog but for individuals in your community.
  • Socialize your dog on a regular basis.  This encourages your dog to be friendly to new people and situations.
  • Keep your dog groomed and clean.
