Dogs In The Sporting Group

The Cocker Spaniel has been in the United States since the 1880's; it is also one of the most popular dog breeds.  The Cocker Spaniel is the smallest of the spaniels that are part of the Sporting Group.  Their coat colors range from black, black with tan points, parti-colored, or any solid color other than black.  The Cocker Spaniel was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1878.
