The American English Coonhound is well-known for their speed and endurance. This breed can hunt fox and raccoon all night long. Their coat color can be red and white ticked, blue and white ticked; tri-colored with ticking; red and white; and white and black. This breed was developed from the English Coonhound; they were bred for the rougher terrain found in Virginia. The American English Coonhound was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 2011.
