Dogs In The Hound Group

The Plott hunts both bear and boar (they are also used in coonhunting); this is a powerful and well-muscled dog.  Did you know the Plott is the state dog of North Carolina?  The Plott has a smooth glossy coat with colors ranging from brindle to solid black with saddle markings.  The American Kennel Club recognized the Plott in 2006.
